Every Assumption School family is expected to support the Parent Participation Program which aims to achieve maximum parent involvement and at the same time to help meet the annual costs of school operations. Note that purchase of raffle tickets for BOTH Fall Festival and the Dinner Auction is REQUIRED for every family. The Parent Participation Program requires each family to give 48 hours of service as outlined in the following activities:
Fall Festival – October 16, 2011
Each family must work a minimum of 5 hours and sell raffle tickets in support of this event. Likewise, each family is responsible for the donation of items. It is extremely important that all families support this major school fundraiser and parish community activity.
Great American Magazine/Wrapping Paper/Gift Sale – September, 2011
It is important that each family support the sale of these products by assisting with TIME in preparation of sales, assisting with distribution of materials, or by assisting with accounting needed for these sales. PLEASE NOTE THE PURCHASE OF ITEMS DOES NOT COUNT TOWARD SERVICE HOURS.
OLA Golf Tournament – March 19, 2012
It is important that each family support these events either through donation of time in preparation for the event, assistance on the day of the event or attendance at the golf tournament.
Dinner-Dance Dance – May 12, 2012
Each family is responsible for the sale of raffle tickets and a donation of items or services. Participation of all families is needed with this important fundraiser to assist with preparation, donation of items, assistance at the event itself and attendance on the evening of the event.
SCRIP Program – Ongoing
Our Lady of the Assumption School does not have a mandatory SCRIP program, but every school family is encouraged to purchase SCRIP, available for purchase year round. Purchase of scrip also counts toward completion of the service hour requirement.
10 hours (limit) for SCRIP purchases or use of Escrip of $2,000 between 9/1/11 – 5/15/2012. (Every $200 scrip purchase = one parent hour.) If you have a business which purchases a large amount of SCRIP on an on-going basis, please speak to Mrs. Groff about earning SCRIP hours.
