CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK “CATHOLIC SCHOOLS…FAITH, ACADEMICS, SERVICE” JANUARY 29 – FEBRUARY 4, 2012

The national theme for Catholic Schools 2012 celebrates that we, as a faith community, proclaim our priorities – first, faith, the foundation of our life; then, academics, the learning that distinguishes our school; and finally, service, putting our faith and learning to work helping others. These three priorities make Catholic schools stand out from other educational institutions. Children are taught faith – not just the basic tenets of Christianity, but how to have a relationship with God. Children are taught academics, and are held to a very high standard, in order to help each child reach his or her potential. They experience service, the giving of one’s time and effort to help others, as an expression of both faith and good citizenship.

Catholic schools and their graduates make a positive contribution to American society. Giving back to the community and helping others are values instilled in every student. Catholic school graduates succeed in life and serve their parishes and communities.
