FAMILY ENVELOPE – Thanks to all our families who have already turned in completed forms sent home in last Tuesday’s envelope. The sooner we get your information (and permission) for the Family Directory, the sooner we will print and get this out to you. Each Tuesday, we ask that you take all the contents out of the envelope, fill out and return anything that we need back, and keep the rest for your reference. Please return the envelope (after signing the front) with your child on Wednesday. Teachers will send home a classwork packet with their own cover sheet separately. This cover sheet is also posted to the website.
STUDENT-PARENT HANDBOOK – The Parent-Student Handbook can be found on the school website. Only new families are receiving a paper copy of our school handbook. It is very important that you read it, so in today’s envelope, there is an acknowledgement form to be signed by parent and child, and returned to the office. Please take some time to review the handbook with your child. There is a great deal of useful information, as well as answers to MANY questions that parents call our office about. If any other family does not have access to the internet, or would like a paper handbook, they can request it from the office.
LOG-INS – Parent logins for Gradelink were sent home last week. Please let us know if you are having any difficulties getting into Gradelink OR the teachers’ blogs.
PARKING LOT – Thanks to everyone for their cooperation and support of our new drop-off/pick-up system in the parking lot. Please assist us by using the FAMILY VISOR TAG in your car – it will help us identify your vehicle and get your child to you more quickly. Need a second one for grandma? We have additional ones in the office. Yesterday was the first day with Kindergarten and Grade 1 joining us… they are learning. PLEASE go over parking lot safety with your children. Students should not walk between moving cars or walk around the front of your car while it is in the line. Please encourage your child to LISTEN for his/her last name in the pickup area.
FIRST LEGO LEAGUE AT OLA – Lego League meets each Friday after school in the computer lab from 3 – 4 PM!
LUNCH HELPERS NEEDED: Parents, we need your assistance every day at lunchtime (12 Noon until 12:45 PM). School staff supervise the lunch tables and play areas, but we can use additional helpers. It’s a fun way to spend some time with your children and assist us too. Consider coming at lunch ANY SCHOOL DAY. Simply sign in by the office, pick up a Lunch Helpers Guide, wear a name tag, and check in with Pat for directions. Each 45 minute lunch period you are here earns you ONE PARENT HOUR. We ask that all parents assisting at lunch or in a classroom take the Virtus Protecting God’s Children class offered by the parish. Details on upcoming classes are below.
