Family Movie Night- We thank everyone for your understanding, as we rescheduled our Movie Night, originally planned for last weekend. The early weather forecast did not favor us, and we could not take the chance of a cold, drizzly evening. We want our Movie Night to be a fantastic event and enjoyed by all, so we appreciate your support of our change.
The Movie Night has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 3, concluding our school’s celebration of Catholic Schools Week. All paid tickets for reserved spaces and food will carry over to the February date. Our talented student entertainment will take place before the showing of the movie, “SING!”. Delicious food and snack shack treats will be available.
We concluded our raffle last Friday with the drawing of the winning tickets. Our winners were all school families! They are: Third Place ($250) the Lajoie Family (Nate, Gr. 6 and Lainey, Gr. 4), Second Place ($500) Kathy Berry, grandmother of Ryland Felts (Gr. 4), and First Place ($1000) the Roelling Family (Brookelyn, Gr. 2). The student winner of our raffle for the iPad is Kindergartner Mia Panza! Congratulations to all!
OLA/ST. BONAVENTURE GOLF TOURNAMENT – Thanks to all our golfers, sponsors and donors who took part in our Parking Lot Par-Tee yesterday at Saticoy Country Club. A big thank you to Golf Co-Chairs Gina Ravenscroft, Kristine Behrens and Dawn Norkewicz. A great day of golf was followed by dinner, silent auction and awards. Results will be published soon.
PARENT CONFERENCES – In today’s envelope, each family is receiving a sheet to sign up time preferences for the upcoming parent conferences. Please return yours right away. The First Trimester ends on November 16, and this is a good time for teachers and parents to meet to discuss student progress. Our school schedules four noon dismissal days for the purpose of conferences: November 16, 17, 20 and 21. Please indicate your preferred times and return it with your child. Teachers make every effort to coordinate siblings’ conference times. Your child’s teacher will then send back to you a conference appointment time.
PARKING LOT DISMISSAL REMINDERS:
- For safety reasons, teachers will call out your child’s name, regardless of whether they are walking, being picked up by a parent, or getting into a car.
- If you are walking up to pick up your child, please join the line. After the 2:45 bell rings, all students are brought out and the line goes very quickly. We ask that you not come up to the fence and beckon your child to run to you. The walk-up line procedure is for the safety of your children so we can ensure that they are dismissed directly to you.
ESTATE PLANNING SEMINAR – OLA Parish is offering an Estate Planning Seminar on Thursday, November 9, with presentations at 1 Pm and 7 PM in the Santa Cruz Room. Fr. Leon would like to invite all parishioners and school parents to come and learn about estate planning, including trusts and wills. This is an important topic for all families. Use the green sheet coming home in today’s envelope to RSVP for one of the sessions.
ACCELERATED READING NEWS – If you would like to receive emails on your child’s AR progress please send your name, child’s name and the email address you would like used to Mrs. Smithson at email@example.com. You will be notified every time your child takes an AR test and what their results were.

If your child is a baptized Catholic above grade 2 but has not yet made his/her First Holy Communion, they may join with our grade 2 in preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion this coming May. If you are interested, contact Mrs. Scarlett as soon as possible.
