CYBER SAFETY EVENING FOR PARENTS – Our Lady of the Assumption School invites all school parents to attend a very special presentation on “Cyber Security for Our Children’ on tonight from 6:30 – 8:30 PM in Mulcahy Center. This is an important topic that touches all families and children. CHRISTMAS EVE CHILDRENS’ MASS – The OLA Christmas Eve Mass at 4 PM is a special children’s liturgy. Students from our school and the Religious Education program are part of the liturgy and choir. Your families are invited to attend to be a special part of the celebration. We are in need of families to be greeters at the doors prior to the mass. If this is a mass you will attend, please consider this wonderful opportunity. Check with Mrs. Groff for more information.
PARKING LOT DISMISSAL REMINDERS:
- For safety reasons, teachers will dismiss your child by calling his/her name, regardless of whether they are walking, being picked up by a parent, or getting into a car. This is so that we can observe and confirm which adult is taking your child.
- If you are walking up to pick up your child, please join the line. After the 2:45 bell rings, all students are brought out and the line goes very quickly. We ask that you not come up to the fence and beckon your child to run to you. The walk-up line procedure is for the safety of your children so we can ensure that they are dismissed directly to you.
- Do you need an additional visor tag for another one of your vehicles? How about grandma’s car? Stop by our office – we would be glad to provide more tags to families.
- Students who have written permission to walk after school are required to check out each day before leaving. Students who leave without checking out will forfeit the privilege of walking, and will be required to have an adult check them out.
DEDICATION OF NEW STATUE – Please join Fr. Leon, members of our parish and the school community, as our celebration of our new statue continues! We will gather on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Friday, December 8th after the 5:30pm Mass, for a celebration and dedication of the new statue of Our Lady of Lourdes and OLA School Plaza. We acknowledge the generous donation of the Young Ladies Institute, YLI, for the statue and rose arbor that is to grace the statue. This is a sacred space dedicated to Mary and all who pray for her intercession for our children, our families, and all who desire to know Jesus Christ, the Son of Mary. Refreshments will be served, following the dedication. All school families are invited to attend!
