Dear Parents,

Planning for this year’s Annual Auction is underway. It’s an evening of fun, food and music
to benefit our kids at OLA. We can’t make it a success without you!

Each year we receive wonderful items from OLA families and friends that are featured in our
Silent and Live Auctions. Our non-prot status makes your donations tax-deductible, and
all donations are awarded parent hours for their retail value. You are awarded 1 parent hour
for every $15 in retail value of an item or service!

Here’s a list of suggestions for items and services that you, your friends, or favorite
neighborhood retailers can donate:

Nail/Hair salon certificates, Spa/Massage certificates
Electronics of all kinds, Computer maintenance and repair services
Automobile services, Auto Detailing certificates
Sporting event tickets, Sports memorabilia
Movie tickets, Bowling, eater/ Concert tickets, Limousine rentals
Beach gear, Gardening supplies, Picnic or Camping gear
Host a theme party in your home

In yesterday’s school envelope, we included a donation request letter and form for you to take along when you visit
your favorite businesses. It’s a great way for you to help build their business too! Turn in a
form with the donated item, then report the hours on your Parent Participation form.
Letters and forms are also available at the school office or at www.olaventura.org
for printing as needed.
Thank you for your dedication to OLA. Your participation is what makes our school great!

Sincerely,
Your 2012 Auction Committee

OLA Dinner Auction – Come and learn about it over coffee on Jan. 20!

Our Lady of the Assumption School’s annual Dinner Auction will be on Saturday, May 12.  This is always a fun, well-attended event that brings together our school parents and teachers for a wonderful dinner and auction.  Preliminary plans are under way, and we are looking for some additional parents to be a help.  The auction team needs lots of workers to help with decorations, raffle, auction solicitation, entertainment and publicity.  This is a fun and productive way to help our school.  How are you going to get YOUR remaining parent hours this year?? Come and find out how you can help.   There will be an Auction coffee meeting on Friday, Jan. 20 at 8:15 AM in Assumption Hall.

Auction Planning Meeting

Tomorrow evening, Thursday, December 15, there will be a planning meeting for the OLA Dinner Auction at 6:30 PM in the Teachers Lounge.  Our Dinner Auction is a major fundraiser each year, and the date of Saturday, May 12, 2012 is reserved for this year’s event.  Would you like to be a part of the planning for this exciting event?  Come to the meeting tomorrow evening to see how you can be a part.

Auction Raffle Stars!

The following students deserve special recognition for selling at least 15 raffle tickets the last week of the raffle in support of OLA School.  Great job and thanks for all your hard work selling the raffle tickets!

Megan, Sarina & Simon Christie, Christian Contreras, Thomas & Rita Cook, Aidan, Genevieve & Roan Moran, Madeline & Halle Wright, Sydney Hornbuckle and Jacob & Jared Vidal.

Thanks so much to all of the students who sold raffle tickets over the past 5 weeks.  We saw a huge increase from last year, with 88% of our families meeting the goal of 10 tickets/family!!!  We raised nearly $35,000 with the raffle this year and we are so proud of the hard work and effort so many students, families and OLA parishioners put in to making this our most successful year yet.

Congratulations to Mrs. Delaney’s Pre-School class and Mrs. Bennett’s Kindergarten class on winning the Pizza Party for having 100% class participation and to Ms. Bedard’s 4th grade class for selling the most tickets!  We hope everyone enjoyed our Raffle Rally last Friday.  It was a fun, cool way to wrap-up the raffle, celebrate our success and recognize the teachers and staff for their encouragement, enthusiasm and support.

Dinner Auction Raffle Update

OLA Auction/Raffle News:

There’s only two weeks left to sell the required 10 raffle tickets/family to earn a prize for your child/children and for your family to be entered into the free tuition raffle.  As of today, we have awarded over 250 prizes and 40 students have their photos displayed on our Wall of Fame.  Kindergarten is leading the race (18 out of 28 students) to win a class pizza party, but 4th Grade is close behind (see bar graph below).

We still have lots of prizes on hand to give out and our goal is to award prizes to EVERY student at OLA and see EVERY class celebrate a successful raffle with a fun pizza party.  Students must turn in their tickets by April 8, 2011 to be awarded the final prizes at our “Raffle Rally” next Friday afternoon.   But don’t wait until the last minute to sell those tickets!!!  Simply ask/e-mail your friends, neighbors, aunts, uncles, cousins, Godparents or co-workers to buy 2-3 tickets and you’ll sell them in no time!  And, the more tickets sold gets more prizes for the students and more chances to for your family to win the free tuition.  Extra raffle tickets are available in the school office.

And, the following students deserve special recognition for selling at least 15 raffle tickets so far in support of OLA School:  Olivia Rovelli, Nick Lenicka, Samantha & Makenna Chasmar, Samantha & Anthony Manizza and Cooper & Fae Armstrong.
