Science Fair Update!

Exciting News!  We started our Oral Presentations for the Science Fair, and so far, they are going great!  The students have worked so hard, and it shows in their presentations, and in their boards.  Thanks to all who have helped the students do their best.  It has really paid off.

I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the presentations, as well as the Science Fair itself!  I hope to see you at the Open House , when the Science Fair will be set up for all to see!

Science Fair Update

Hello Middle School students and parents,

Here are some reminders regarding the Science Fair:

I have instructed the students that it is time to get their backboards.  We will begin work on them next week.  If they want to bring them to school for help, I am happy to lend them a hand.

In addition, observation paragraphs are due on Monday.  This should be just a brief paragraph based on observations made during their experiments.

I will work with students in class regarding Abstracts and Conclusions.  I will also hand out information on assembling the backboards.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about your student’s project.

Thank you for supporting your student with this important project!

Middle School Science News

For sixth seventh and eighth grades:  The Science Fair Research Paper Final Draft is due tomorrow.  This is just a clean copy of the rough draft that was turned in earlier, with all the corrections made.  Please include a clean copy of the Hypothesis, Bibliography, Materials and Procedure lists.

During the break, all the middle school students should be working on their Science Fair Projects.  This is the time when experiments should be conducted and all the data should be collected.  Please be sure that your student is recording all the necessary information needed for his project.  When we return to school in January, we will begin working on the backboards.

Merry Christmas to all the families here at OLA!   I hope that this season finds you all surrounded by family and love. Have a wonderful New Year, too!

Science Fair News!

Today, most of the students turned in their Research Paper Rough Drafts and their Hypothesis!  Good job!  If you did not turn it in today, you need to get it to me by tomorrow to receive full credit.

The due date for the Materials List and the Procedure List has been changed to Monday, Dec. 5th.  It was originally Friday, Dec. 2nd, but middle school does not have science on fridays.

Any questions regarding these assignments, please email me or talk to me at school.  See you tomorrow!
