Tues., May 15

This morning we heard twonderful speeches  for the Student Council  elections.  I am consistently amazed at how easily our students are able to do presentations in front of large groups.  All the students did a fine job, but I am especially proud of our fifth graders as this was their first encounter with running for an office.    Like the others, they had to make a commitment, write and present a speech, make campaign posters, give up some free time, and take the risk of not winning. Congratulations to all the students who courageously chose to run for an office.

May Crowning is this Friday.  Please send in flowers Friday morning for the Mass.  Thank you.

The Spring photos have all been sent home.  After looking them over, please send in the money for them or return the photos so you can get credit.

Tuesday 5/15

Hello,

We went to the hall for the voting for our Student Council for next year. We listened to speeches and then the kids got to vote. It was a great experience for them!

We have started the parts for the play and the songs. We hope you can join us for it on May 25th. More information coming home with the packet cover this week.

After the voting, the kids went out for PE, then recess. After recess, we had our Big M pages to correct and we worked more on our writing project of Historical Fiction. The children should be up to their outline and, for Thursday, they need their Sloppy Copy, and the rest of the prewriting pages that come before the Sloppy copy.

At 11:00 we had Music  and then it was lunch. After lunch, we did Math 17.1 which is fractions.
