At Our Lady of the Assumption School we believe that a quality education is not only geared toward the intellect but also toward attitudes and behaviors. It emphasizes all aspects of the self through a Catholic-Christian perspective. It is about education of the whole person. Character development therefore becomes a fundamental goal of education. With the beginning of our new school-wide program, Building Caring Classrooms©, we believe we will have the opportunity to expand on our goal of quality education.
The efficacy of the program will be enhanced by the collaboration between our school staff & teachers and you, the parents and caregivers of our students. The basics of the program consist of a quality that will be introduced, taught and emphasized each month. Each month we will introduce a new quality through grade appropriate activities and lessons. The quality will be hi-lighted throughout that month in other school events such as; daily prayer, assemblies, and our school environment (banners, bulletin boards, etc). In addition to the lessons in the classroom, we will provide each family with a faith at home component. This will include simple activities, prayer, and discussion starters you can use at home, to foster the quality for each month.
