Class Notes:
Parent Letter
September 29, 2009
Dear Third Grade Parents,
As we
discussed on Back to School Night, the first couple of months in
third grade are going to be tough.
If we donŐt enforce third grade requirements and expectations now, your
child will continue to encounter the same problems throughout the year. Therefore, we wanted to make you aware
of the actions we are currently taking in our class regarding studentsŐ
work. We are getting many
assignments turned in incomplete or completed with bogus answers. Also, others
are turned in late or not at all. To make matters worse, many are forgetting to
put down their name, student number, or subject with page number.
We need
you help to get the students on the right path to academic success. Please take some time each evening to
check over your childŐs homework making sure itŐs complete and makes sense. In
an effort to get them to do assignments properly, we need to have certain
students stay in at recess to complete or redo assignments. Again, if students do not develop good,
strong study habits now, their academic future will continue to be difficult. Yes, there are quite a few that are
doing all their work completely and on time and as a whole I see an improvement
this week compared to the last. I
know with your help and consistent guidance, your child, will develop into a conscientious, independent.
student.
Thank you for your time and support,
N. Van Buren and K. Armstrong.
