Music Teacher – Andrea Lawson
Christian songstress, Andrea Lawson, began her music career at a young age. When she was 14 years old, the church where she attended asked her to cantor. Shortly thereafter, Andrea started a young children’s choir. Andrea’s mother was an experienced cantor, folk singer and guitarist, so her decision to pursue music came as a surprise to no one. Private music lessons in voice, piano and dance helped her form a solid work ethic, and by the age of 18, Andrea was awarded the Cardinal’s Recognition of Ministry Award. After studying music for 3 years through Ventura College and California Institute of the Arts, Andrea’s focus always drew her back toward Christian music. While working for over 13 years as Cantor/Assistant Music Director at our Lady of the Assumption Church, Andrea also taught at the Children’s Music Academy in 2009 and 2010. Andrea sings in a wide range of weddings, funerals, and private events ranging from LA to Santa Barbara. Lawson released her first song on YouTube last year “Ave Maria” producing thousands of hits.
