Auction Help Needed! - Our “Roaring ‘20s” auction is 54 days away and we need help from our parents with procurement and centerpieces. We need more folks assisting with visiting local businesses, asking for donations for our silent and live auctions. Additionally, if you have skills in flower arranging, we also need your help with centerpieces for the tables on auction night. Please reach out to Kerry Murphy at OLASchooldevelopment@gmail.com for more information. Thank you!
Faith Corner: PRAYER TO SAINT BLAISE
O, Blessed St Blaise, you received from God the power to protect men from throat diseases and other maladies. Take away the illness that afflicts me, keep my throat healthy and perfect so that I can talk correctly and be able to proclaim and sing praises to God. I promise you, St Blaise, that the words coming from my mouth will always speak: The truth and not lies; justice and not calumnies; goodness and not harshness; comprehension and not intransigence; forgiveness and not condemnation; pardon and not an accusation; respect and not disparagement. Conciliation and not intrigue; calmness and not irritation; unselfishness and not egotism; edification and not scandal; enthusiasm and not defeatism; conformity and not a complaint; love and not hate; joyfulness and not sadness; faith and not disbelief; hope and not despair. St Blaise, keep my throat free from illness so that I can praise God, my Creator, and thank you, my protector. Amen
Protecting God’s children is the initial VIRTUS training session required for adults who come into contact with children in their ministries. The program covers the requirements for an effective prevention program. The training is good for four years. We ask that all school volunteers take the training. For questions, call Dea Boehme at (805) 390-1260. It is also recommended that parent volunteers be Livescanned for the school.
