OLA School Closure

Dear OLA Parents,

Thank you so much for your patience as this COVID 19 situation unfolds.  I meet today via zoom with the Superintendent of the ADLA, Paul Escala. The Archdiocese has decided to close all  Catholic schools until March 31. Please understand that this date is fluid and subject to change. Our school will be closed to students beginning Monday, March 16,

Please be reassured that your student’s education will continue. Teachers will be on-site each day and we are putting together a plan to implement remote learning.  You can expect to hear from your child’s teacher with more details by Wednesday, March 18th. Implementation will be a gradual process. As we are all learning together as to how to best meet the educational needs of each student during this time.   Please be patient in this process. As always our mission is to provide an engaging and rigorous education to our students.

Going forward a large component of our educational plan includes students having access to devices and the internet.  We are aware that families may be sharing devices and teacher will plan accordingly, Over the weekend please do the following:

  1. Create a Zoom account (Free) for each child.
  2. This is a good time to implement or review parental controls and the expectation of online behavior.

We understand that not all families have access to digital resources.  Parents, please let your teachers know if this is your situation so that we can meet your needs.  On Tuesday, March 17th please plan to come by the school to pick up books and second-trimester report cards.  Our office will be open from 7:30 am to 6 pm on that day.

Please continue to pray for our faculty and staff and we continue to work and pray for our school community.

God Bless,

Karen Fussell
