Our teachers continue to uphold our mission of providing academic excellence. We are so very grateful for your patience and support as we transitioned to a remote platform. We know we will hit some hiccups I encourage you to kindly communicate with our teachers as well as myself your concerns and compliments as we continue this journey.
The current update from our Superintendent of Catholic Schools, Paul Escala is as follows:
“ As a result of the revised statewide “Safer at Home” order, remote learning will be extended through Sunday, April 19. Our intent is to resume in-person instruction on Monday, April 20, but much will depend on orders from public health officials at that time. We are committed to returning to on-campus instruction as soon as we can, but we must prepare for further extensions. Until then, we will maintain our remote learning programs and keep our families engaged, connected and learning together. We understand that some public school districts and private schools have identified alternative dates to reopen. Guidance and orders from public health officials have informed our decisions from the beginning of the crisis. As such, our return date is based on the most recent order from officials stated above.”
I pray that we can resume school on April 20, but as you know the situation is fluid. I ask for your continued prayers for our school, community, and our nation.
The following is a prayer from our Archbishop Jose Gomez:
Prayer in the Time of the Coronavirus Most Reverend José H. Gomez
Archbishop of Los Angeles
Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen of the Angels and Mother of the Americas. We fly to you today as your beloved children. We ask you to intercede for us with your Son, as you did at the wedding in Cana. Pray for us, loving Mother, and gain for our nation and world, and for all our families and loved ones, the protection of your holy angels, that we may be spared the worst of this illness. For those already afflicted, we ask you to obtain the grace of healing and deliverance. Hear the cries of those who are vulnerable and fearful, wipe away their tears and help them to trust. In this time of trial and testing, teach all of us in the Church to love one another and to be patient and kind. Help us to bring the peace of Jesus to our land and to our hearts. We come to you with confidence, knowing that you truly are our compassionate mother, the health of the sick and the cause of our joy. Shelter us under the mantle of your protection, keep us in the embrace of your arms, help us always to know the love of your Son, Jesus. Amen.
