Greetings OLA Families,

I would like to express what a blessing our teachers, teacher aides, and staff are to our school community.  Our wonderful APA Board this week has taken the time to go to each teachers’ home and leave a special gift of appreciation. I know that you join me in thanking all our teachers and staff for the many wonderful gifts they bring to our school.  Thank you all for blessing our classrooms with your care, dedication, and love.  OLA is very thankful for all of you.

No Zoom Friday, May, 8th from 10 am -11 am - Come on out and join out Marian procession and see the wonderful posters your teachers have created for our students.

This is the process we will follow:

  • If there is construction on Dunning please Enter off San Luis (Please do not enter off of the Church Parking Lot.)
  • Please remain in cars with your flowers
  • Teachers and aides will come to your car to pick up flowers
  • Father will lead  one “ Hail Mary” and  the  “ Memorarae”
  • Honk your horns as you leave

Father Leon will lead us in a “Hail Mary” and the “Memorare”  to be said in your cars.  Here are our intentions: Please intercede for us Holy Mother and remember all those who are suffering in this time of the  COVID-19 pandemic.

The following is a prayer from our Archbishop Jose Gomez:

Prayer in the Time of the Coronavirus

Most Reverend José H. Gomez

Archbishop of Los Angeles

Holy Mother

Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen of the Angels and Mother of the Americas. We fly to you today as your beloved children. We ask you to intercede for us with your Son, as you did at the wedding in Cana. Pray for us, loving Mother, and gain for our nation and world, and for all our families and loved ones, the protection of your holy angels, that we may be spared the worst of this illness. For those already afflicted, we ask you to obtain the grace of healing and deliverance. Hear the cries of those who are vulnerable and fearful, wipe away their tears, and help them to trust. In this time of trial and testing, teach all of us in the Church to love one another and to be patient and kind. Help us to bring the peace of Jesus to our land and to our hearts. We come to you with confidence, knowing that you truly are our compassionate mother, the health of the sick, and the cause of our joy. Shelter us under the mantle of your protection, keep us in the embrace of your arms, help us always to know the love of your Son, Jesus. Amen.
