Our Lady of the Assumption

From the Desk of theĀ  Principal... May 20, 2020

american flag

God of power and mercy,
you destroy war and put down earthly pride.
Banish violence from our midst and wipe away our tears,
that we may all deserve to be called your sons
      and daughters.
Keep in your mercy those men and women
who have died in the cause of freedom
and bring them safely
into your kingdom of justice and peace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

Father Leon: Calling All Artists

There is nothing more inspirational than a beautiful image, picture, or a quote. This is a time to help others enter into prayer and meditation.

This weekend is Memorial Day and the feasts of the Ascension and Pentecost are upon us. I want to open our church campus to Artists and others who want to use the areas surrounding the church as their canvas.

Therefore, we are making areas for anyone who would like to use a concrete square or maybe even a parking slot to create an inspirational image or saying or another artistic rendering.  We have some great artists in the community who can do something special in colored chalk or tempera paint.

When: Saturday, May 23 from 9 AM-12. (for the artists)  Bring your own materials.  Must be water-soluble.

(Social distancing and healthy protocols must be followed)

Where: OLA Church grounds

A viewing will be Sunday and Monday for visitors to stroll around the church
