Happy Feast Day of the Brith of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Reflect, today, upon the fact that Mother Mary is your mother. She truly is your mother and it’s worth celebrating her birthday in the same way that you would celebrate anyone’s birthday who was a member of your family. Your honoring of Mary, today, is a way of solidifying your bond with her and assuring her that you desire her to be an important part of your life.
Happy birthday, Blessed Mother! We love you dearly!
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
Precious Jesus, through the heart of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, our Mother, we trust in You!

Back to School Night:
This year back to school night will be virtual via zoom. It will begin at 6 pm until 7:30 pm. The first part will be dedicated to the addresses of the Principal, Pastor, Associate Pastor, and APA Board. Teacher zooms will begin at 6:50 and 7:10. We will have two sessions. Each teacher will be sending your zoom invitations to hear about the wonderful things they have planned for our children this year and to answer your questions
Grandparents Day: This year we will be celebrating Grandparents Day on Patriot’s Day~ September 11. For Grandparents Day we would love to have grandparents join us over zoom at 11:30 if they are able. They can use the same zoom code as the kids. This is a great opportunity for those grandparents who not just live close by but those that live farther away to participate. If they have more than one grandchild they are welcome to go to one class for a few minutes and then leave to join another class. I know that for some grandparents zoom will be unfamiliar and might be difficult. If you anticipate that this might be the case please spend some time this week before Friday getting them set up with what they need. If grandparents are unable to participate, students may also invite a special friend like a godparent or aunt/uncle.
We would also love pictures of your grandparents with their grandchildren for our social media posts (Facebook and Instagram)! If you are interested in this (and ok with the pictures being posted), please send them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible - by Thursday at the latest.
You can follow us on Facebook (Our Lady of the Assumption School) and on Instagram @oladolphins.
Family Information Drop-off: Please make all student’s information and family information paperwork is turned to the office. Thank you.
Student Pick-up/Drop-off: Starting Wednesday, September 16th we will begin hosting a drop-off/pick up day. What this means is that once a week, students will have the opportunity to send in a folder with their work for their teachers to see. At the same time, you will be able to pick up a folder of graded work and any papers or supplies they might need for the week ahead. The following week on Wednesday we will have another drop off-pick up day, where the folders will be exchanged again. This will continue while we learn from home.
A table will be set up for you to “make the switch” on Wednesdays outside the gate, with a bin or basket for each grade K-5. The table will be there from 7:30 AM until 3:00 PM. If, for some reason, this time does not work for you during any given week, please email your child’s teacher and let them know so that she can make accommodations.
