Today is the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows
Devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows became widespread in the Church around the 14th century. It was revealed to St. Bridget of Sweden (1303-1373) that devotion to Our Lady's Seven Sorrows
would bring great graces. Mary, in a unique way, willingly suffered alongside her Divine Son as he gave his life to save the world, and she felt the bitterness of his passion as only a mother can. This devotion is especially remembered during September, the Month of Our Lady of Sorrows, and during the season of Lent. The Seven Sorrows of Mary are the Prophecy of Simeon, the Flight into Egypt, the Loss of Jesus for Three Days, the Carrying of the Cross, the Crucifixion of Jesus, Jesus Being Taken Down from the Cross, and Jesus Laid in the Tomb. The feast of Our Lady of Sorrows is September 15th.

What a wonderful day. We had grandparents from England, South Carolina, Washington, and many parts of California zooming in their grandchildren’s classroom. Stories were shared and games were played. Fun and laughter were shared by all! Hopped you were able to check out our Facebook page and Instagram posts to see the grandparents share beautiful and memorable pictures with their grandchildren.
Family Information Drop-off:
We are still missing a large number of Family Information packets. Please get them into our office as soon are you can~ Thank you.
Wednesday is the regular day that this will happen - but we've run into conflict this week. There is a large military funeral happening in the plaza on Wednesday, September 16th. Out of respect, we are bumping our pick up/drop off day to Thursday - this week only.
Just to review - What this means is that once a week, students will have the opportunity to send in a folder with their work for their teachers to see. At the same time, you will be able to pick up a folder of graded work and any papers or supplies they might need for the week ahead. The following week on Wednesday we will have another drop off-pick up day, where the folders will be exchanged again. This will continue while we learn from home.
A table will be set up for you to “make the switch” on Wednesdays outside the gate, with a bin or basket for each grade K-5. The table will be there from 7:30 AM until 3:00 PM. If, for some reason, this time does not work for you during any given week, please email your child’s teacher and let them know so that she can make accommodations.
Recertification contact Joan Vienna at email@example.com. The deadline has been extended to December 31, 2020. So this means if your certificate has expired during any time in 2020 you are eligible for recertification online.
If you are new or your certificate expired before 2020 there is a zoom class on September 24 at 6 pm please email firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
