From the Desk of the Principal…November 3, 2020

Prayer intentions from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops:
  • As we prepare for the national & local elections, in the midst of a global pandemic, may our political engagement be guided by our Catholic Faith.
  • May Our Blessed Mother guide us in confronting racial inequalities and restoring peace in our communities.
  • May all Americans recall the necessity of dialogue, civility, and humility in this election season.
  • May all people understand the moral and ethical dimensions of political decisions and decide accordingly.
  • May voters & elected leaders uphold the dignity of every human life in their political engagement.
  • May Catholics recall all aspects of Catholic Social Teaching as they consider their votes.
  • May there be a transformation of politics to focus on the dignity of the human person and the common good.
  • May we keep in mind the gift of religious freedom and our duty to defend and exercise it as faithful citizens.
  • Today, as we approach the polls, may we understand & embrace the principles of our Faith that should guide our political engagement.
  • May the leaders elected this week to be guided by the Holy Spirit as they fulfill their positions.

Shout Out to our Current 8th Graders!

Our current 8th graders entered the Young Writers’ Once Upon A Dream Contest. The Editor, Donna Samworth informed our school that she has chosen all of the work from our 8th-grade students.  In her words “Having all of our students’ work chosen is something to be proud of,  it doesn’t happen every day! I was impressed with their writing and it’s clear that you’ve really inspired them with Once Upon A Dream! - it’s been a privilege to read and every piece will make a fantastic addition to ONE UPON A DREAM 2020 - FUTURE VOICES!”  GREAT JOB 8TH GRADE!”

We appreciate your patience during the different drop-off and pick-up times.  During the afternoon pick up we are asking that the driveways of residents are not blocked.  Thank you again.

OLA School is holding a School Fundraiser on the evening of November 10th (note that there is no school the next day, Wednesday, Nov. 11th, as it is Veteran's Day). The cost is $50.00 per vehicle and you can fill your car with as many people as you have seat belts!

Please send in your money no later than November 5th. Your tickets and parking pass for those paying the $50.00 will be sent home on Tuesday in the Brown Envelope next week. We will also have a fundraiser that night with Pizza Man Dan’s at all 7 of their locations. So get your dinner and head over to the fairgrounds for your movie night.
