News Notes for March 6, 2018

LENTEN JOURNEY – On our Lenten journey, we listen to the daily readings and reflect on their meaning for us. This week, our middle school students will present Living Stations of the Cross, with scripts written by them and accompanied by student musicians. There will be two performances: 1 PM and 6:30 PM, both in the church. What is your family doing for Lent? Lenten Soup Suppers (every week a different delicious meatless choice) followed by Stations of the Cross on Fridays are ways to enrich our Lenten experience. Download the OLA Parish app to receive daily messages and Lenten activity suggestions.

Mandatory Auction Donation Reminder – At the beginning of the school year, the APA Board sent home a summary of planned fundraising activities for the 2017-2018 year. As you know, our annual dinner auction is less than three weeks away and it’s our biggest fundraiser of the year. We depend on EVERY school family fulfilling their minimum (and mandatory) obligations of selling at least 10 raffle tickets AND donating at least $25 to purchase gift cards. Kindly drop off your donations to Mrs. Ravenscroft in the office, as we are recording as families fulfill their obligation. And of course, we hope to see you at our “Evening Under the Cherry Blossoms” on March 24.

DINNER AUCTION – MARCH 24 - The Dinner Dance Auction, An Evening Under the Cherry Blossoms, will take place on Saturday, March 24. This annual parent event is a major fundraiser for our school, and will be an evening of fine dining, music, dancing and bidding on amazing auction items. Get your reservation in to the office…the last day for RSVPs is THIS Friday, March 9.

OLA's Annual Raffle Continues! With every family's participation, we can reach our goal of raising $34,000 or even more for our school. We know this has been a difficult year with the Thomas Fire and its devastating effects in our community, but we still hope that we can make the raffle and the ensuing "A Night Under the Cherry Blossoms" Auction a huge success, and this won't happen without every family's help. New this year, the top three student sellers in the school earn gift card prizes rather than cash. 1st Place wins $250, 2nd Place wins $200, and 3rd place wins $150. Check out the Prize Wall for photos of students who have sold their tickets, and student sellers will be named on the school marquee. Raffle prize announcements continue every Friday at flag salute!

This beautiful space has added safety and beauty to the school entrance, and provides space for prayer, instruction and gathering for social events. There are opportunities for donating to this project, including numerous opportunities to give, from pavers to fencing and entrances. This is a chance to invest in the school and have your family and childrens’ names on pavers to always be at the school. Please consider a gift in memory of a relative, school graduate or grandparent.
