GRANDPARENTS & FRIENDS DAY THIS FRIDAY - This Friday, September 7, we invite all our Grandparents and Friends to join us at school. Join us for school mass at 9:30 AM, and then come over and join us in the classrooms. We will also bless and install our 2018 - 2019 Student Council officers at the mass. Coffee and rolls for our guests will be compliments of our APA Board. It is a Noon Dismissal Day.
Scholastic Book Fair – has been rescheduled for February 20 – 22, 2019.
STUDENT-PARENT HANDBOOK – All new families will receive a paper copy of our school handbook today. The entire handbook can also be found on the school website. We ask all parents to read the handbook, then sign and return the acknowledgement.
GRADELINK – Gradelink is a web-based program that allows teachers to post grades, and allows parents to view students’ grades and keep up on assignments. Login info was sent home last week to all families. If you have any difficulty logging in, or find yourself locked out, call the office.
PARKING LOT - Thanks to everyone for their cooperation and safe driving in the parking lot. If you are driving through the line after school, please assist us by using the FAMILY VISOR TAG in your car – it will help us identify your vehicle and get your child to you more quickly. Need a second one for grandma? We have additional ones in the office. As you can see, our entire staff is out there working hard to make our system work smoothly. Notes: There is NO LEFT TURN from Dunning Street into the carline in the morning or afternoon. This stops traffic and is unfair to cars patiently waiting in line. If you come in from Telegraph Road to Dunning, please go around San Luis Street and join the end of our carline. For safety, be sure to use the crosswalk to walk your child across the lanes. No dropping off in the drive-through lane, please!
PICTURE DAY – Will be on Thursday, September 13. Order envelopes are coming home in today’s envelope. Students wear school uniform for these photos. WE COULD USE ONE PARENT AS A PHOTO HELPER on this day, from 8 AM – Noon. Earn parent hours AND get a free packet of pictures for your child! Contact Gina Ravenscroft in the office if interested: (805)642-7198.
LUNCH HELPERS NEEDED: Parents, we can use your assistance every day with lunchtime supervision (12 Noon until 12:45 PM). School staff members supervise the lunch tables and play areas, but we can use additional helpers. It’s a fun way to spend some time with your children and assist us too. Consider coming at lunch ANY FULL SCHOOL DAY. Simply sign in by the office, pick up a Lunch Helpers Guide, wear a name tag, and check in with Pat Groff for directions. Each 45 minute lunch period you are here earns you ONE PARENT HOUR. We ask that all parents assisting at lunch or in a classroom on a regular basis take the Virtus Protecting God’s Children class offered by the parish. Details on upcoming classes are below.
P.E. SCHEDULE: All grades have PE class two days each week. On the day students have PE, they come to school dressed in PE clothes, and wear them all day. Here is the schedule for weekly PE:
