Words - Season of Eastertide on a background of a hilltop

Mission Statement: Our Lady of the Assumption School Commits itself to provide an education based on catholic values and academic excellence in a caring and safe atmosphere in  partnership with the family and parish  community.

From the Desk of the Principal…May 16, 2023

Tuesday of the Sixth  Week of Eastertide

Acts 16:22-34. Your right hand has saved me, O Lord – Psalm 137(138):1-3, 7-8. John 16:5-11.

The Holy Spirit is our advocate

Salvation comes to those who hear the Word and keep it. We hear the word ‘advocate’ in the Gospel today. Jesus uses the word ‘advocate’ here for the Holy Spirit. An advocate is someone who stands beside you and helps you in court. An advocate speaks on your behalf, defends you and helps to set you free. An advocate offers support, strength and comfort. Can you allow the Holy Spirit into your life to speak on your behalf, to walk beside you and help set you free?

DILIGENCE: A STRONG KEY TO CAREER SUCCESS

Virtue for the Month of May is ~ Diligence

Doing your best and working hard until you are finished.

In Christianity, diligence is the effort to do one's part while keeping faith and reliance in God. In other words, diligence and faith are two sides of a mystery. One does not know how, despite one's effort, it all works out; but diligence, when combined with faith, assures spiritual success.

Our Saints this month:

Grade PK- 2: St. Andre Bessette “ Put yourself in God’s hands; He abandons no one.”

Grade 3 - 5: St. Francis de Sales “Have patience with all things, But, first of all with yourself.”

Grade 6-8: St. Catherine of Siena “Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire”
