Happy Veterans Day!
This week, we pause to honor and give thanks for the men and women who have served our country with courage and dedication. Their sacrifice reminds us of the true cost of freedom and inspires us to live lives filled with gratitude and service.
We are also blessed to have Fr. Daniel and Sr. Rebekah begin Eucharistic Adoration instruction with our students this week. What a beautiful way to deepen our understanding of prayer and the presence of Christ in our daily lives.Week 32 in Ordinary Time
St Josaphat
Wisdom 6:1-11. Rise up, O God, bring judgment to the earth – Ps 81(82):3-4, 6-7. Luke 17:11-19.
Be fair to the wretched and destitute
Today’s readings are a lesson in justice and right judgment. The First Reading is addressed to those who govern, and urges kings to seek wisdom and to listen humbly. These words might be spoken today to our world leaders – that they listen and learn from wise elders instead of acting aggressively. The psalm shows us we are not invincible.
The Gospel is also relevant for today. The lepers were the outcasts in Jesus’ time. Who are the outcasts today? What of refugees and asylum seekers seeking welcome, only to be told they are not wanted? Jesus calls us to stand up for the outcasts. He taught that everyone has the right to dignity and acceptance. Let us look into our hearts today to see if we are found wanting. We all want to hear those words, ‘Your faith has saved you’.

Virtue of the Month: HumilityAccepting your limitations and God-given talents
Humility is the foundation of all the other virtues. It allows us to see ourselves truthfully—as God sees us—without pride or false modesty. To be humble is to recognize both our strengths and our weaknesses, knowing that every gift we have is a blessing from God, given not for our glory but for His.
When we practice humility, we become more open to learning, to serving others, and to loving as Christ loves. Humility frees our hearts from selfishness and helps us rely on God’s grace in all that we do.
This month, our classrooms will walk with saints who modeled humility in inspiring ways:
✨ St. John the Baptist (TK–2):
John humbly prepared the way for Jesus, reminding everyone that he was not the Messiah but the one sent to announce His coming. His words, “He must increase; I must decrease,” show us the beauty of stepping aside so that Christ may shine through us.
🙏 St. Pio of Pietrelcina (Grades 3–5):
Known lovingly as Padre Pio, this humble Capuchin friar lived a life of prayer, simplicity, and compassion. Despite his miraculous gifts, Padre Pio always pointed others toward God, teaching that true greatness comes from obedience and love.
🌸 St. Thérèse of Lisieux (Grades 6–8):
Through her “Little Way,” St. Thérèse showed that holiness is found in doing small things with great love. Her humility was rooted in total trust in God’s mercy and in recognizing that even our smallest acts can be beautiful when done for Him.
As we learn from these saints, may we also grow in the virtue of humility—seeing ourselves truthfully, serving others joyfully, and giving glory to God in all things.
✝️ Prayer:
Lord, You are gentle and humble of heart. Teach us to see ourselves as You see us—to rejoice in our gifts, accept our weaknesses, and trust completely in Your grace. May we grow in humility this month, learning to love You and others with pure and faithful hearts. Amen.
Works of Mercy-$1 Non Uniform Dress Day-Friday, November 14th-Funds collected will support our local adopted family through St. Vincent De Paul.
