School Motto: "Anchored in Faith, We Serve, and Shine."
Mission Statement~ Our Lady of the Assumption School commits itself to provide an education based on catholic values and academic excellence in a caring and safe atmosphere in partnership with the family and parish community.
From the Desk of the Principal ~ March 10, 2026
As we enter the third week of Lent, we continue our journey of prayer, sacrifice, and service as we prepare our hearts for Easter. Lent reminds us to slow down, reflect, and grow closer to Christ through acts of kindness, generosity, and faith. We are grateful for the many ways our students and families are living out these Lenten practices both at school and at home.
Celebrating Our Students
We would also like to recognize Zane Jones, who represented OLA in the County Spelling Bee this week. Zane competed with great confidence and determination and tied for 5th place among many talented participants. We are very proud of the way he represented our school with excellence and grace. Congratulations, Zane!
A Busy and Joyful Parish Community
OLA has been joyfully busy as we host our Friday Soup Suppers during Lent and prepare for Donut Sunday. These gatherings are wonderful opportunities for fellowship and for strengthening our parish community.
A heartfelt thank you to all of our families who volunteered their time and donated items for the Soup Supper. Your generosity and willingness to serve help make these events welcoming and successful for everyone.
Your continued support and involvement truly make OLA such a special community.
✝️ Today’s Readings – A Call to Compassion
Daniel 3:25, 34–43
Psalm 24 (25):4–9 – “Remember your mercies, O Lord.”
Matthew 18:21–35
Today’s readings invite us to reflect deeply during our Lenten journey, a time when the Church calls us to pause and consider how we are walking with God in our daily lives.
In the reading from Daniel, the people of Israel find themselves in a difficult time. They feel the absence of their leaders, prophets, and places of worship. Yet even in hardship, they turn to God with humility and trust, asking Him to remember His mercy. Their prayer reminds us that even when circumstances are challenging, God’s compassion is always present.
The Gospel of Matthew continues this message through Jesus’ teaching on forgiveness. When Peter asks how many times we must forgive, Jesus answers not just seven times, but seventy times seven. This powerful response reminds us that forgiveness and compassion should have no limits.
During this Lenten season, we are called to become people of compassion and forgiveness. Our faith challenges us to show mercy to others, to heal relationships, and to bring hope to those around us.
May today’s readings encourage us to live as missionaries of hope, reflecting God’s mercy through our kindness, patience, and willingness to forgive.
Let us ask the Lord to guide our hearts so that we may walk this Lenten journey with humility, compassion, and love. ✝️
