Jubilee Year of St. Francis 1226-2026

✝️ A Week of Prayer, Service & Celebration

This week provides our OLA community with several beautiful opportunities to grow in faith together. As we continue through the Jubilee Year of St. Francis of Assisi, we are reminded of his example of simplicity, peace, care for creation, and loving service to others.

We look forward to celebrating our school Mass this week, hosted by our 4th grade students, as we honor St. Francis of Assisi and Our Lady of the Rosary, whose feast day is October 7. The Rosary is a wonderful gift of prayer that invites us to slow down, reflect on the life of Jesus through the eyes of Mary, and place our needs and the needs of others before God.

🌿 St. Bruno

Galatians 1:13–24

Psalm 138 (139): “Guide me, Lord, along the everlasting way.”

Luke 10:38–42

In today’s Gospel, we meet Martha and Mary. Martha is busy serving while Mary sits at the feet of Jesus and listens. Jesus reminds us that while serving others is important, we also need to make time to stop, listen, and be present to God.

This is an important lesson for our busy lives. There will always be another task to complete, another place to go, or something that needs our attention. Jesus invites us to find balance—to be people who serve generously but also make time for prayer and listening.

This connects beautifully with our OLA community. St. Francis showed us how to serve, Our Lady teaches us how to listen and say “yes” to God, and the Rosary gives us an opportunity to become quiet enough to hear Him.

🙏 Lord, help us to serve with generous hearts and to make time to listen to You. Through the intercession of St. Francis, St. Bruno, and Our Lady of the Rosary, help us grow closer to You and to one another. Amen.
